Maybe your team already has too many tools, or the last system needed an admin and weeks of training. So when you go looking for the best field sales software, you want the one your reps will actually open. Most field sales platforms look alike on a features page: a map, a check-in button, a dashboard. The difference shows up on a rep’s Tuesday, in the truck between stops, and it depends on what kind of selling your team does.
A note before you read: we make Voze, and it’s on this list. So here’s how we built it. We picked six tools that sell to field sales teams and come up when people search for field sales software. Every line about another company comes from that company’s own website or its Capterra listing, and each section links the pages we used. We left out prices and star ratings, because both change often and a demo will give you current ones. The order runs from route-first tools to door-to-door tools. It isn’t a ranking. Start with the kind of field team you run
A rep who knocks on doors in a new neighborhood every afternoon needs different help than a rep who calls on the same shops and fleets every month. And a manager who plans territories wants different things than one who wants to know what each visit turned up. Find the line that sounds most like your team, and read that tool first.
- You plan the day around a long list of stops: Badger Maps or Map My Customers.
- You manage territories and leads for business or residential selling: SPOTIO.
- You visit the same accounts again and again, and the notes and follow-ups matter most: Voze.
- Your field team fills out forms, takes orders, or runs inspections at the stop: Outfield.
- You knock doors or canvass neighborhoods: SalesRabbit.
1. Badger Maps: for teams that plan the day around the route
Who it’s built for. Badger Maps calls itself a platform “built for how reps actually work.” It starts from the map, with a route planner and sales mapping in one mobile app that connects to your sales system.
What it does well. Routes are its home turf. Badger builds “the fastest possible route with up to 120 stops, real-time traffic, and turn-by-turn directions built in.” Check-ins, notes, photos, and location are logged when a rep finishes a visit. After a meeting, it reads the rep’s notes, drafts a follow-up email to the customer, and sends it. It builds a brief before each customer meeting, too. For connections, it offers a two-way, real-time sync with 25 sales systems, plus Zapier, a spreadsheet upload, or its API for the rest.
What to check in a demo. Bring a real day’s list of stops and watch the route get built. Then ask to see a follow-up email drafted from one of your notes, and decide whether you want it sent for you or checked first.

2. Map My Customers: for teams that sell from the map
Who it’s built for. Its own description on Capterra says it’s “for field sales teams looking to drive more revenue,” and that it equips reps “with a mobile app that helps them plan and track their day.”
What it does well. The map is the center of the day. You import your customer list, sort accounts with colored map pins and custom fields, optimize visit routes, record activities and notes, and set reminders to follow up. It connects with HubSpot, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Zoho, and Zapier.
What to check in a demo. Bring a real export of your customer list, messy columns and all. See how long it takes to get every account on the map with the fields your reps sort by.

3. SPOTIO: for teams that manage territories and leads at scale
Who it’s built for. SPOTIO sells separate plans for business-to-business teams and for residential teams in areas like “solar, home improvement, roofing.” Its business plan names “telecom, industrial, financial services, and enterprise sales,” and its pricing page says it’s “designed for teams of 5 or more field sales professionals.”
What it does well. Territory management is a strength, with “clear assignments and hierarchical permissions,” so reps aren’t arguing over who owns an account. It plans routes that cut drive time, suggests a next best action on every record, and gives managers dashboards of “completed visits, time in field, and territory coverage.” Its DASH co-pilot helps reps prep for visits, capture details by voice and photo, and draft follow-ups, and the rep confirms each action before it saves. Salesforce teams get a two-way sync built in. HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, and Zoho connect through Zapier.
What to check in a demo. SPOTIO’s pricing page lists some features, such as SPOTIO AI and the Engagement Bundle, as add-ons. Ask which of the features you see in the demo come with the plan you’d buy.

4. Voze: for teams that visit the same accounts again and again
Who it’s built for. Outside sales teams that call on the same customers month after month, where what the rep hears on a visit has to reach the people who act on it. That includes heavy-duty truck, trailer, tire, and equipment dealers. Voze is a preferred partner of Procede, Karmak, and MaddenCo, and works with CDK.
What it does well. Voze picks up where the visit ends. The rep talks the visit through in the app, and Voze writes it up and pulls out the follow-up tasks and any teammates the rep mentions. The rep can review and fix anything before it’s final. Tag a teammate, and the note goes to them. Tag a group, like purchasing, and the whole group hears about it. Tasks land in one list, in Voze Pro on the phone and Voze Web at the desk. Voze connects through Zapier to the systems a team already runs, and we build custom connections for larger teams. Dealers can see how the DMS integrations work.
Voze isn’t where we’d send you for route planning. If the hard part of your day is the route, start with Badger Maps or Map My Customers.
What to check in a demo. Have one of your reps talk through a real visit from last week. Tag a teammate in it, then check what reaches that teammate and what lands in the system you already run.

5. Outfield: for field teams that do more than sell
Who it’s built for. Outfield covers more than sales. Its own description on Capterra names teams “from outside sales to brand ambassadors to field service teams.”
What it does well. Reps manage accounts, optimize routes, and log activity from the phone. On top of that, Outfield has conditional forms and an inspection builder, an order and inventory manager, and a performance dashboard with leaderboards and competitions. It works on its own or alongside Salesforce, HubSpot, or another sales system you already run.
What to check in a demo. If your reps fill out forms or take orders at the stop, rebuild one of your real forms during the demo and run it on a phone.

6. SalesRabbit: for door-to-door and canvassing teams
Who it’s built for. SalesRabbit says it’s “built for door-to-door and canvassing teams in roofing, solar, telecom, security, pest control, HVAC, and beyond.”
What it does well. Canvassing is the core. Its territory tools let you “assign, track, and rate areas in real time.” The scheduler handles team appointments and syncs with Google and Outlook, and reps can build custom forms and capture e-signatures in the field. The Amplify tool adds gamification, leaderboards, and coaching. It integrates with Salesforce, JobNimbus, AccuLynx, PestPac, Zapier, and others.
What to check in a demo. Ask to see how areas get assigned and re-rated after a week of knocking. If you also sell to businesses you visit more than once, ask to see one account’s history across several visits.

Questions to ask every vendor
- What does a rep do in the first minute after a visit? Watch a rep do it on a phone, not a sales engineer on a laptop.
- Where does the visit end up? Name the system you run and ask to see the record land there.
- Who else needs to hear what the rep heard, and how do they find out?
- Which features come with the plan you’d buy, and which cost extra?
- Who sets it up, and who trains your reps?
Any tool on this list can look good in a demo run by the vendor. The test is whether your reps still open it on a busy Thursday in month three.
See Voze with one of your own visits
If your reps call on the same accounts again and again, and you want each visit to reach the people who act on it, book a Voze demo and bring a real visit to talk through. If the route is the hard part, start with the route-first tools above. We’d rather you end up with the right one.
