Looking for a Salesforce Maps alternative? Start with what changed. On Aug. 31, 2026, Salesforce retired two mobile pieces of Salesforce Maps: the standalone Maps mobile app and Maps Live Tracking Mobile. If your reps drive to accounts and used either one, this post covers what Salesforce says, what to check this week, and what your options are. That includes teams whose sales records live in HubSpot or Pipedrive. Last verified Sept. 29, 2026. Salesforce may update its help pages.
What Salesforce retired on Aug. 31, 2026
The standalone Maps mobile app
According to Salesforce's help page on the Maps mobile app retirement, the standalone app was retired on Aug. 31, 2026. Reps who want Maps on their phones now use the Maps Mobile tab inside the main Salesforce mobile app.
Maps Live Tracking Mobile
Salesforce retired Maps Live Tracking Mobile the same day. It doesn't move into the main app. Salesforce names Check-In and Mileage Administration in Salesforce Maps as alternatives. If your managers used live rep locations, that's the piece to look at first.
What didn't change
Desktop Salesforce Maps isn't affected by either retirement. Only the two mobile pieces went away.
What to check this week if your team used the standalone app
You don't need a big project. You need a short list of answers, and you need them from the people who were actually using the app.
- Find out who was on the old app. Ask your reps, not just whoever administers Salesforce. Reps know who still opens it every morning.
- Confirm your reps can reach the Maps Mobile tab. Have two or three of them open it in the Salesforce mobile app and try a real route.
- Ask whether live locations mattered. If managers relied on them, decide what replaces them and tell the team what you chose.
- Find out what reps are doing right now. If they're using a notes app or texting themselves, you have a gap in your visit records.
Your options, in plain terms
There isn't one right answer. The right one depends on where your team's records live and how much change your reps will take on. Here are three paths and the tradeoff of each.
Stay in Salesforce and use the Maps Mobile tab
This is the smallest change if your team lives in Salesforce. Reps stay in one app, and managers keep the reports they know. The tradeoff is that live tracking is gone, so ask what your managers will use instead.
Use a mapping and route tool next to your system of record
Plenty of route planners cover the drive. If the drive is your main problem, this can be enough. The tradeoff is that the visit itself, what was said and what happens next, can end up in a second place unless someone retypes it.
Move to a field app built around the visit
These apps start from the visit, not the map. They fit teams that can find the customer just fine but struggle to get the details of the visit into the record. The tradeoff is one more app to roll out, so how quickly a rep can start matters. Run a small pilot with a few reps before you commit a whole team.
If your team runs HubSpot or Pipedrive
If you're weighing a Salesforce Maps alternative and your records live in HubSpot or Pipedrive, the question is a little different. The map matters less than what happens after the visit. A rep leaves a customer's shop or warehouse with a lot in their head: who they met, what changed, what was promised. If that detail doesn't reach your records, your managers can't see it and your next visit starts cold.
Ask any field app these four things:
- What does a rep have to type after each visit?
- Where do notes and next steps land: in HubSpot or Pipedrive, or in a second place?
- Can a manager see visits without asking reps to retype them?
- How fast can a rep start?
Test each answer with a real rep, not a demo. Ask them to log a visit from a truck, then check the record.
Voze is a field app for outside reps. It connects through Zapier to HubSpot, Pipedrive and the other systems teams already run. You can read how it fits on our platform page, or see what reps get on the rep page.
A short checklist for choosing a field app
- Confirm how it connects to your HubSpot or Pipedrive setup.
- Check where visit notes and next steps end up.
- Make sure managers can see visits without extra typing.
- Time how long a new rep takes to get started.
- Ask what happens to your data if you leave.
Run the same checklist on every option, including staying put.
